What is "The Evolving Rhythms Project"?

The Evolving Rhythms Project is a multi media musical and cultural exploration, for the purpose of the inspiration and evolution of consciousness.
The language of music opens doors to realms inaccessible to financial or political motivations. It is the language of the soul, and so it has been the primary language I have used in this ongoing work. I have also found that those fluent in the language of music embody some of the most enlightened and functional views and ideas about life and living.
So far I have produced four cross cultural fusion albums under the Evolving Rhythms banner, and two feature length movies, the second being an exploration of music and lifestyle in some of the most remote locations on the planet, accessable only by sea, and virtually untouched by the global economic system. Arguably, therefore, some of the last surviving examples of what real sustainability looks like, outside of fossil fuel and economic dependence.
The hub of this work is this website.

Here is an example of this work:

Future Vision:

In my second movie, we spent 8 months living on a 62ft sailing catamaran, operating cameras and computers powered by solar and wind generators. In that time we used about $15 worth of diesel fuel, and produced a feature length movie shot in some of the most remote places on the planet.
I am working to secure the resources to continue to sail around such islands, collaborating musically with the people I meet, and interviewing willing participants about their ideas and priorities in life.

These are urgent times. We are the inheritors of virtually incomprehensible technological momentum, which effects the way we interact with each other and our environment on so many levels. Some of our technologies, and our collective habbits and comforts are clearly not sustainable. They therefore leave us vulnerable as a species, and in some cases impact negatively on our planet. However, some of our technologies clearly are sustainable, and can provide the means for a quantum leap of sharing of information and knowledge. Never before in the history of our species has the sharing of information been so accessible to so many. I therefore propose that it is a worthy, if not vital cause, to step outside of the deeply worn chanels of thought brought about by the relatively slow evolution of our social, political and economic systems, to notice the hazards of relying so heavily on the non renewable resource of fossil fuels, and to reflect again on the essential aspects of sustainability, which are so clearly observed in poverty, and so easily obscured by consumer comforts, habits, and short term economic growth motivations. It is time for the first world to take lessons from the third, and our multi media communication technologies must play a vital role.

What is "The Evolving Rhythms Project"? It is quite simply a means of reflecting examples of the ART of LIVING in harmony with ourselves, each other, and our environments.
