OK.... just to state the obvious a few times, because sometimes we dont see the forest for the trees...

I have noticed, as you probably have too, that things are speeding up, and at an accelerating rate...
For example, it took billions of years for the first multi cellular life to emerge on our planet, humans have walked the earth for at best a few hundred thousand years, and the internet we play with, and within, has been around for about 20 years. The global cultural remix that is "Evolving Rhythms", has grown through technology that is less than 10 years old. Now every year sees unprecedented massive advancements in technology. I remember not having an e-mail address, now most of my music, gigabytes of it, is stored free in the over mind of the internet. Blah blah blah. Except that if you accept that "evolution" is accelerating, or even just that these days things seem to happen much faster than they did for our ancestors, it then has some pretty big connotations about the future.... The destination of history? 2012? Or just the crash cymbal at the end of the drum fill? The singularity at the end of history? Who knows... (Read Terrence McKenna. timewave theory and 2012.)
Here's the crunch for all of us. As our interconnectedness, and its effects, continue to become more obvious, more quickly than ever before, it's time for us to get the lesson, and stand responsible. We are all connected, with each other, with our environments, with unseen realms we dont even begin to understand or imagine, and we effect it all, just by being. Our quietest private thoughts, even the small lies we tell ourselves, have profound repercussions. The love we feel, for ourselves, for each other, for our environments, for the unseen realms, have profound repercussions. This is the new consciousness. This is the new global and personal challenge. Your own senses and intuition will verify this.
People speak of freedom. This is the new freedom. Freedom does not mean being able to have what you want, being able to go where you want, when you want, without having any responsibility. Freedom is being able to choose what you believe about what matters to you and how you want to be. We are all free to create, and recreate our own beliefs, as often as we like. Our beliefs then, in turn create... everything.
I propose a new word, to replace freedom and responsibility. FREESPONSIBILIDOM. Or perhaps REFREEDOMILITY.... Watcha rekon?

This is what "Evolving Rhythms" is all about. Drumming in a group, brings us directly into the presence of the over mind. What I mean by the over mind is at the very least, the sum of all individual consciousness expressing themselves with sound at that time. The practice of drumming in a group gives us the experience we need to find out for ourselves what it means and what it takes on the level of individuated consciousness to get aligned, and harmonious, with this greater consciousness. This is why drumming is such an ancient practice. When we all drum together, we all channel time together, and we know through our experience of it, that we all connect, effect and create our experience of it. Weather or not we choose to tune into time evolving in this way, we all ride the beast. Our planet ship earth, spiraling through time toward the attractor at the end of the history we dream into being. We are all partners in time....
